Her birthplace was in Santa Monica, California on 26 November 1986. She is the daughter of her father Vincenzo Barba and mother Valerie Barba. She and her family moved from Point Pleasant, New Jersey when she was six. In terms of her education, she finished her education at Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. After graduating at Catholic University with a Bachelor's in Architecture, she continued her studies at the university. Her first violin lessons began at the age four, and became known as Violin Girl. As a result of her music performance, she was referred to as the Violin Girl. Also, she was instrumental teacher to the kids in the region. She sang Free from 1976 in her audition for American Idol's sixth season, at age 19. However, she was removed from the show following her achievement of 16th place. The singer has also performed songs, including "The Christmas Song" (2009) as well as Out for Blood (2010).
